Home Tips For Silky Smooth Hair

hair_upSalubrious hair is beauteous hair. We all want our hair to be soft and shiny, but going by the amount of dust, pollution and chemicals our hair is exposed to every single day, we end up with lifeless and brittle hair. In this blogpost we will discuss some chemical free home tips to make it shiny and silky.
1. Hot towel therapy for dry hair: massage your hair with olive oil or coconut oil. Next soak a towel in moderately hot water, wring it well and wrap around your mane for about ten minutes. The hot towel helps in easy and fast absorption of oil. After removing the towel gently massage the scalp and wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
2. For bouncy mane: this simple home tip will add the bounce and shine to your hair like the one you notice all the time in hair care products advertisements. Soak one tablespoon of methi dana or fenugreek seeds overnight in water. The next day make a paste of it by grinding it and apply it onto your scalp. Keep it for about half an hour and shampoo afterwards. For the extra bit, just add one teaspoon of lemon juice in a mug full of water and pour it over your hair at the end of your bath.
3. Home remedy for Dandruff: dandruff is one of the most ‘hard to get rid off’ hair condition. Most of the dandruff shampoos provide only short term relief and after a while the dandruff comes back again. The cause of dandruff could be anything from hard water to harsh winters or even excessively oily scalps. However, this one simple tip will not just make the dandruff disappear from your head but also leave your hair full of life and shine. This magical home remedy is yoghurt. Apply yoghurt on the scalp for half an hour and then wash it off with a mild shampoo. Use this method atleast twice a week until the dandruff completely disappears. Tip: yogurt has a cooling effect on the body, avoid using this method in cold winters, or if necessary apply it only for fifteen minutes. Another great home tip for curing dandruff is mixing half a teaspoon of lemon juice in a small bowl of coconut oil. Apply it on the scalp and hair overnight and wash off in the morning.
4. Natural conditioner-Henna: Henna is the one of the best natural conditioner and was primarily used for hair care for centuries in India. Henna powder is quite easily available in India or can also be found in a Herbal store. Mix a bowlful of henna powder with yoghurt and one teaspoon lemon juice into a paste, the paste should not be too thin or too dry. Apply this all over on your hair just like any hair dye is applied and wash it off after an hour. Tip: Henna is also used as a natural dye, it leaves behind an orange tint. So just be careful when you apply Henna, wear old clothes and use gloves. The orange tint is not noticeable on black or dark brown hair and it fades away in few days. However, it is not a good idea to apply henna if you are light-haired.
